Well, this week got off to a rather sad start with the unexpected passing of our family dog, Coal (or Bob as he was more commonly known). He was a sweet puppy and I'm sad I didn't get to tell him bye. If there's a doggy heaven, he's reunited with his best friend Val and they're probably running laps together.
The rest of the week was more upbeat and productive. My project for my apprenticeship has been really well received by both of my superiors, and I'm really excited to see the outcome of it. I'm realizing that March will arrive this week, which leaves me exactly a month to complete my entire project. It is a lot to do in a little amount of time. But I'm really excited about my concept and I think that I can turn it into something really innovative and surprising.
I went into the office on Saturday to try to make some progress on my project. It was really nice. I think I'll go in for a few hours on Saturday more often. The office is so quiet. There were only four people working on my entire floor. So we all had our music on and could spread out a little more- it was so relaxing and productive.
After that, I went out for some tapas and wine with some friends. We had a fantastic chorizo mac and cheese. And this morning, in usual Sunday fashion, I grabbed some brunch. Today I had shirred eggs with grilled bread. So tasty! I'm now a regular both at Cafe Mocha and at Belcourt. We're friends with the waiters now and even have a regular table and get complimentary glasses of grapefruit juice. I'm starting to feel like a local!
Here are some pictures of my weekend and some taxicab snapshots!
